When I asked Anna Lee Diego to create this portrait of my wife, and I told her I wanted it to be like our album cover, I told her I wanted some kind of mix of death from above 1979, little bit of Mars Volta, Delau, and the C Moratorium, and just whatever she had in mind with her style. The creation of the practice seemed like it deserved to be defined by an image different than our logo, something that symbolized what my wife and I had created with our lives. I wanted an image that represented more than what a cookie-cutter marketing company logo could do. At least for me, I’ve been a musician longer than I’ve been a dentist, so it’s the lens I always look through first. I appreciate that I get to work in this awesome space every day with great people. I filled the entire office with art that inspires me and hopefully communicates to people that this is a special place where you can feel inspired too.
