The American Dental Association represents all dentists in the United States of America.
For dentists, the path to excellence in the profession begins in dental school. The ADA strives to make the transition from dental school into a dental career as a participant in organized dentistry as smooth as possible. It doesn’t matter what path you’re going when you graduate, the ADA represents you.
ADA National Signing Day is a day where soon to be graduates of dental school from all over the country are encouraged to join the ranks of the largest organized dental community in the country. It’s an important step in every dentist’s career to be an ethical, informed, and responsible professional in field that so many before us have made great. The Texas Dental Association is a branch of the American Dental Association, with component societies all over the state. My wife Ana and I are members of the San Antonio District Dental Society. As chair of the San Antonio District Dental Society Committee on the New Dentist and a committee member of the Texas Dental Association Committee on the New Dentist, I will be hosting an event at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School next Monday where new members will be “signing up” to be a part of the organization.
New members will be encouraged to take a picture and post it on social media to show their friends and colleagues their commitment to our great profession that they have already worked so hard to be a part of. It’s signing day. You’re going pro. Since it’s Texas, it’s TDA Signing Day. Our goal is that 100% of all of the dental students graduating this year join. Just for fun, we’ll have a little prize for a lucky winner with the best pic on Twitter or Instagram with #TDASigningDay.
I’ll see you there!
