Gone are the days of heavy doses of radiation and chemical processing associated with conventional x-rays. At Rolling Oaks Dental, we use digital x-rays. It’s safe for you and safer for the environment with significantly less radiation. We use digital x-rays as a diagnostic tool to assess your dental needs.
An x-ray is often needed in a dental examination to see between the teeth and the underlying bone. X-rays are necessary for patients of all ages.
X-rays are used to detect:
- Possible Areas Of Decay Between the Teeth Or Below Existing Restorations
- Decay in teeth that is deep and close to the nerve
- Possible infections in the upper and lower jaw
- Periodontal Disease
- Cysts or Abscesses
- Problems with the development of the teeth or jaw
- Pathology such as tumors
Intraoral photography is an excellent tool for patient education. If there’s something happening to one of your teeth that requires attention, there’s nothing like seeing an enlarged photograph of it on a computer screen! By using intraoral photography and an intraoral camera, we can more easily discuss what is going on with a tooth and what your options are.
